Illnesses detected early on through signs in your eyes include diabetes, high blood pressure and even heart disease. At Eyes In The ‘Burg, we feel it’s important to review your family history then monitor and watch for signs of possibly inherited diseases or illnesses as another precaution.
Glaucoma and age related macular degeneration are two of the leading causes of vision loss today that are tested for during the course of your annual examination as a preventive measure in keeping your eyes healthy.
Cataracts are a clouding of the lens in the eye. The age at which cataracts develop varies greatly. While there is no way slow the progression of cataracts, your eye glass prescription can be tailored to maximize your vision while your cataracts are being monitored.
